30 Days of Coffee: Day 23

Day 23: Jameson Brown Coffee Roasters
One of the less heard of roasters in the LA area is Jameson Brown. They opened in Pasadena in 2006 and have been serving the locals freshly roasted coffee ever since.
I like Jameson because of its neighborhood coffee shop vibe. If this were a New York neighborhood it would be “Central Perk”. It’s a popular study place for students because of their plug-in spots and free WiFi, and a quick breakfast stop for those who live nearby.
The coffee here is selected according to season from countries in Africa, Central America, South America, and Indonesia. Their menu includes some signature drinks like the Vienna latte and a drink called the snowball. They also offer a good selection of teas.
The food here is limited to pastries, the occasional fruits, and various plachintas; a Romanian pastry filled with cheese, veggies, meat, or a combination.
There isn’t much to the decor at JB, but there is quite a bit of seating (even though the afternoon study crowd makes it difficult to find a seat). There’s brick walls and a cozy fireplace for those two chilly days we had this past winter (really though, what’s a winter?). Some soft music in the background completes the scene as you sit and enjoy your coffee. I’m sitting on the couch right now, and I’m already feeling at home.
